NOCTURNE IS OUT NOW! MY COLLABORATIVE ALBUM WITH MARLEY PITCH

Misc. Covers 2018/2019 is out now. 27 of my covers not previously released on streaming services are now live on all platforms. This music was not mixed or mastered with a project in mind so I encourage you to jump around, shuffle or pick and choose your favourites as you listen. That being said I have sequenced the project in chronological order so listening to it top to bottom will offer some sort of look into how my sound has changed over the years. All of the music on here was recorded between January 2018 and October 2019, starting with some of the first solo recordings I felt proud enough of to release. I was a kid when I was making a lot of these. In a way hearing this music puts me in touch with the version of myself from almost exactly five years ago who was messing around with Self Control in his parents basement. This music is also a reminder of how much I have learned from every artist and song that I have covered here. I would not be the musician I am today without forming such a close bond with all of these beautiful songs.

Reflecting on how my musicianship has changed while listening to this stuff has been a really special experience. A hope to share that experience with you is what compelled me to put together this compilation for proper release (along with there being no real reason to keep all of this stuff off of streaming haha). I also feel a satisfying sense of closure with this release, as the emotions I have tied to this music are plenty but not exclusively positive. In letting this stuff go from my vault officially, I feel even more free to create new sounds and work towards making the things that excite me now.

I am so incredibly grateful for everyone who has given my music their ears over the last 4-5 years. It has been a blur and a dream. I am happy to say that my love for creating has only grown as time has passed, and I am so thankful to be able to wake up and make things most days. Some new new projects will be coming very very soon :) I have been taking my time with a few things that I really look forward to releasing when the time is right. Hope this tides you over until then. Enjoy!

It was fun turning Baby’s Gone into a rock song for this session

It took us about 2 years to finish these tracks amidst life and work on our own projects. I have no regrets taking it slow with these. Shaping these songs as a group with the perspective that only 2 years can bring was unique and rewarding. Also Hans killed these mixes. :)

I don’t know who will scroll this far down, but I think it is safe to say that this will always be one of my most important projects to me. To put it simply, this project marks a time in my life where passion and joy were at an all time high.
